About Us

It all started with a single man and his love for the land. Mr. George Korkidas was born in Salakos village of Rhodes in 1939. From a young age he worked hard at the fields like all children back then. At the age of 12, he remember that he was plowing using a plow pulled by oxen. Growing up, he tried to find his way abroad and this brought him at the dark galleries of the Belgian coal mines. His love for his homeland, however, brought him back and his need to feel free, independent and in touch with nature, led him back to the village and his fields. He cultivated his land with all kinds of crops but his love was always the vineyard. Edible varieties then, linear but also pergola style vineyard. "Rosaki" variety and "Akouno" (as we say in Rhodes the "Sultanina" variety).

In 2015 new generation also entered the game with passion, His son Eythimios spend hours on education about vineyards cultivation and winemaking. After that, new and more demanding wines occured  such as red dry wine (Gousternes) that can be aged,  sparkling natural wines (Pet-Nat)sparkling wines with secondary fermentation in the bottle etc.  Till this day, old and new generation are working hard together raising the standards year after year at their traditional winery.
